Stuff and Areas to Clean When You have a Baby
It’s challenging to maintain a baby’s hygiene since a newborn is very sensitive. Their little hands will just reach for anything they see, grab them, and put them in their mouths. Since he or she still doesn’t know which is clean and which isn’t, the least the Filipino maid | Indonesian maid | Myanmar maid could do is to disinfect everything that surrounds them, making it impossible for harmful bacteria to grow on the baby’s environment.
Spotting dirty areas isn’t that easy but the live-in maid can start with the stuff the baby is always having contact with. What are these items/areas? Eden Grace Maids Agency has made a list for your Filipino maid | Indonesian maid | Myanmar maid to take note.
Stuff and areas to clean:
1) Cleaning the furniture
Examples of baby furniture are cribs, bumpers, walkers, etc. When cleaning them, the Filipino maid/Indo maid must disassemble the furniture first, then remove all the fabric from it. All the washable cloth must be hand washed using a mild detergent, as strong soaps may cause allergies. The hard surfaces of the furniture must be scrubbed by the Filipino maid using a soft-bristled brush. Once the frame and fabrics are completely dried, the Filipino maid can attach them together again.
2) Washing the beddings
The live-in maid knows babies aren’t potty-trained, so they will most likely roll and pee on the mattress or just wherever their little limbs would bring them. When we have a baby around, there is a pungent smell that won’t go away because of urine. It is necessary to wash the beddings, mattresses, and even pillowcases as regularly as possible. We suggest the Filipino maid/Indo maid would wash the beddings weekly to avoid breeding bacteria. The live-in maid may add hydrogen peroxide to the detergent solution and (surprise!), the diaper leaks’ smell is gone!
3) Prioritizing the feeding utensils.
Filipino maids must maintain the cleanliness of the baby’s surroundings, but she needs to be extra careful about disinfecting the utensils the baby touches. These are the feeding bottles, the spoons, the bowls, teats, lids, and other feeding equipment. Everything must undergo sterilization and thorough cleaning. To sterilize them, the Filipino maid/ Indo maid must wash the utensils first then and place them in a large saucepan. Then, add enough water to ‘drown’ the utensils. Boiling the utensils must only last rapidly and she must make sure to re-boil them if they weren’t used within 24 hours.
4) Washing teething toys
Your little one would grab and put into mouth whatever he or she sees. Babies would explore orally to discover the taste and texture of different objects. While we understand that this is a key to a developmental stage, the Filipino maid/Indo maid must give attention to what babies put in their mouths. To disinfect them, she must soak the toys into a bowl of hot water with mild liquid detergent for a few minutes. Then, rinse the bath toys with clean cool running water and wipe to dry.
5) Disinfecting the Changing Diaper Area
Where does the Filipino maid change the baby’s diaper? It could be the bed, the crib, or the diaper changing table. Surprisingly, diaper stations are the least priority of most parents and live-in maids to clean. The live-in maid should make the habit to wipe the area with antibacterial wipes or deep clean it from time to time. She should also get rid of the dirty diapers as soon as it piles up in the trash can. To get rid of odours, mix a cup of water with drops of essential oil you can choose.
