Live in Nanny: Clever Temper Tantrum tricks for Toddlers
A child comes to a stage of being a toddler and it’s one of the trickiest stages of their childhood. It could be quite exciting for parents to hear their babies talk cute and learn to walk and hop. However, it is one of the most difficult stages of our parenthood too. Imagine dragging a boy to eat his meal or calming his loud cry in the middle of the department store.
Here is a list of clever temper tantrum tricks that may help you survive your shopping time with your kid. This is both effective for moms and nannies in Singapore!
1. Select the proper timing
Usually, sleepy kids and too energetic kids are the ones who are enthusiastic in getting into trouble during shopping. The best way for us, parents, is to identify the time when they are usually calm. Is it after a nap? Is it after eating his meal? We can always tell by observing the proper time. Take him to shopping in that specific time when he’s calm.
2. Communicate with him while shopping
There are times all our child need is someone to talk to.
When in the mall, we can:
– Talk to him about anything or help him have fun and describe whatever he sees.
– Ask him about the colors of the products or let him count some things. Not only that he’ll behave during it but he will learn his color chart and we’ve just maximized our time!
3. Give him something healthy
A child behaves when he’s doing something and he has no available hand to do some tasks. While shopping, give him something healthy to eat. Whether it’s an apple or a yogurt drink that takes time to be finishes, let him consume it so he’ll be distracted. Just make sure he loves his food and that he doesn’t throw it somewhere when he despises it. The tendency is he will focus more on his food than on any other things.
4. Let him be your toddler guide
We can prepare a special list for him by printing out pictures of the things we need to buy. Let it appear like a game where he needs to find out where are those things. We won’t only have guide on the mall but also, we’ve made him behave all throughout the shopping time. Also, we can play games on the grocery stores as long as it’s not harmful or causing inconvenience for others. Games like ‘catch the toilet paper’ or ‘organizing the sachets’ are very helpful!
5. Reward him
We can let him choose one among his favorite snack in the grocery store and tell him he’s only allowed to have it if he behaves the whole time.
We hope you have an enjoyable shopping time with your toddler!
