Importance of Relationship with Employer
Dominion over the things you want can only happen once you have the abilities. For Filipino maids or Indonesian maids, power happens when she can satisfy the employer with her service and rendered capabilities. Her power comes from the work she has done: cleaning the house, taking care of the children, cooking the meals etc. It is not fair to demand a high salary or even a job security when the maid has only a little experience and a little dedication to her work. There is no perfect employee but we must consider some qualities that can tell us that the maid is worth the power you bestow her.
If you see the following qualities in her, then you must not let her go:
-If she yearns to learn and willing to try and be corrected
-If she performs her job with enthusiasm and without contempt
-If she is cheerful, respectful and knows her limits
-If she is hardworking, trustworthy, and honest
High expertise over the household works may not be possessed by all of the fresh Indonesian maid or Filipino maid. Some of them still need to adjust and observe over time. As an employer, of you see in them the qualities written above, these attitudes can put up to their lacking domestic skills.
As a helper, if you are new or in experienced, you should keep yourself busy with the chores that you can do at the moment. You should not make yourself a help for the family you are staying in despite of the lacking knowledge you have about some things.

Maids must set a good first impression to their employers. It sets the tone for the next two years. If the employer is pleased with the domestic helper, she explains things to her gently and will not use harsh words to teach her. The employer wouldn’t be too critical on the shortcomings of the maid if she showed enthusiasm towards learning.
